Black Bean and Asparagus Fiesta

You bloody well better pay attention, or you'll end up with a disaster on your hands! A delicious and easy recipe for a fiesta featuring black beans and asparagus.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 slow cooker

Instructions

  1. Preheat the slow cooker to low heat. Yes, low heat, you numpty!
  2. Add the black beans, asparagus, and baking powder to the slow cooker. Stir until everything is well combined.
  3. Cook for 4-5 hours or until the asparagus is tender. Check on it every hour or so to make sure it's not burning.
  4. Serve hot, garnished with a sprinkle of chopped fresh cilantro, if you're feeling fancy.
