Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Cooked basmati rice or naan bread (for serving)
Instructions
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 2 minutes.

- Reduce the heat to low and slowly stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Return the cooked chicken pieces to the skillet. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and serve hot with basmati rice or naan bread.
