Canned Chili Frito Pie

Canned Chili, frito corn chips

Serving Size: 1 portion

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of chili
  • 4 cups of frito corn chips
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of diced red onions
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup of sliced pickled jalapenos
  • 1/4 cup of sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Empty both cans of chili into a medium-sized saucepan and heat over medium heat until hot and bubbling.
  3. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread half of the frito corn chips evenly on the bottom.
  4. Pour half of the hot chili over the corn chips, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to create a second layer with the remaining corn chips, chili, and cheese.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish with diced red onions, chopped cilantro, sliced pickled jalapenos, and dollops of sour cream.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
