- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tsp chilli seasoning
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Sauté the chopped onions until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the diced potatoes and carrots, cooking until they are slightly tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet. Add the ground hamburger to the other side. Season with salt, pepper, and chilli seasoning. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-6 minutes.
- Once the hamburger is cooked through, stir in the tomato sauce and milk. Mix everything together until well combined. Remove from heat.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the hamburger mixture evenly. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top, followed by mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Cheesy Chilli Hamburger Casserole with a side salad or crusty bread!
