Chicken and Ham Fried Rice
What Started it all:
chicken, rice, ham.
Note: Feel free to add any additional vegetables or seasonings to customize this fried rice recipe to your liking.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of cooked rice
- 2 chicken breasts, diced
- 1 cup of diced ham
- 1/2 cup of diced onion
- 1/2 cup of diced carrots
- 1/2 cup of diced bell pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add diced chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add diced ham, onion, carrots, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the cooked rice to the other side. Break up any clumps of rice using a spatula.
- Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet with the rice and vegetables. Mix well.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, ham, and rice mixture. Stir well to combine and coat everything evenly.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until everything is heated through and the flavors have melded together.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
