Chinese Pork and Fish Delight

We're making two mouth-watering Chinese dishes using pork, fish, broccoli, and potatoes that serve two people. Follow the instructions carefully to create these delightful meals.
Ingredients
- 200g pork, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 200g white fish fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 large potato, peeled and cut into thin slices
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the pork slices with cornstarch, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Boil some water and blanch the broccoli for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over high heat. Add the pork and stir-fry until it's browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same wok, add a bit more oil if needed, then toss in the minced garlic. Stir until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli and cooked pork back into the wok. Pour in the oyster sauce and stir to combine everything well. Cook for another 2 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
- Season the fish pieces with salt, pepper, and Chinese five-spice powder.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs. Coat each piece of fish in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the fish pieces until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In the same pan, add the potato slices and fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
- Plate the crispy fish alongside the fried potatoes. Serve immediately while hot.
