Classic Lasagna Recipe

Lasagna is a classic Italian dish that’s perfect for feeding a crowd. This recipe is a timeless favorite that’s sure to please everyone at the table.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned and the vegetables are tender. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the oregano, basil, and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles, then top with another layer of meat sauce. Repeat layers, and sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
- Let the lasagna stand for 10 minutes before serving.
