Creamy Garlic Shrimp Rice with Cheesy Finish

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 1 pound of fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish


  1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, around 3-4 minutes.
  5. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth and milk.
  7. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Stir in the cooked rice and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and stir to combine.
  10. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the shrimp and rice mixture.
  11. Cover the skillet and let it cook on low heat until the cheese melts, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  12. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley.
  13. Serve hot and enjoy this creamy and cheesy delight!
