Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In the rice cooker, combine the macaroni and water. Close the lid and set the rice cooker to 'cook.'
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking until the mixture thickens.

  5. Once the macaroni is cooked in the rice cooker, add the cheese sauce to the rice cooker and mix well with the macaroni.
  6. Close the lid of the rice cooker and let the mac and cheese cook for an additional 10 minutes on the 'keep warm' setting.
  7. After 10 minutes, open the lid and give the mac and cheese a final stir before serving.
