Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the flour, then the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure to press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to ensure a crispy crust.
  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the cooked chicken breasts on top.
