Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 beets, grated
  • 2 cups brewed tea
  • 1/2 cup whey protein powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the grated beets, brewed tea, whey protein powder, salt, and pepper to create the marinade. (Mix the ingredients together until well combined)
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the chicken. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld. (Place the bag in the refrigerator and let the chicken marinate)
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). (Set the oven temperature and allow it to preheat)
  4. Remove the marinated chicken from the bag and discard the marinade. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. (Take the chicken out of the bag, discard the marinade, and pat the chicken dry)
  5. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. (Drizzle olive oil in the skillet, then sear the chicken breasts until golden brown)
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake the chicken for 15-20 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). (Place the skillet in the oven and bake the chicken until fully cooked)
  7. Once done, remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro. (Take the skillet out of the oven, allow the chicken to rest, and then garnish with fresh cilantro)
