Gluten-Free Pork Chops with Turnip Mash and Creamy Sauce

A delicious and easy-to-make recipe that combines the tender flavor of pork chops with the sweetness of turnips, all made possible with the convenience of an Instant Pot. This gluten-free recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.


  • 4 pork chops (1-1.5 inches thick)
  • 2 large turnips, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika


  1. Press the "Saute" button on the Instant Pot and heat the olive oil until shimmering.
  2. Add the pork chops and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned. Remove the pork chops from the pot and set aside.
  3. Add the cubed turnips to the pot and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften.
  4. Add 1 cup of water to the pot and stir to deglaze the bottom.
  5. Add the browned pork chops back to the pot, making sure they're covered with the turnip and water mixture.
  6. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set the valve to "Sealing". Press the "Meat/Stew" button or "Manual" mode and set the cooking time to 10 minutes at high pressure.
  7. When the cooking time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes, then quick-release any remaining pressure.
  8. Remove the pork chops from the pot and set aside to rest.
  9. Use an immersion blender or a regular blender to puree the turnip mixture until smooth.
  10. Stir in the mayonnaise, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until well combined.
  11. Serve the pork chops with the creamy turnip mash and spoon some of the sauce over the top.
