Green Tea Infused Rice

This recipe will serve 4 people, so you may want to adjust the measurements accordingly if you are cooking for more or fewer people. Enjoy the green tea infused rice as a flavorful alternative to regular rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of white rice
  • 3 cups of water
  • 2 teaspoons of green tea leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring the 3 cups of water to a boil and add the green tea leaves.
  3. Reduce the heat and let the tea simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 minutes, strain the tea leaves and return the tea to the pot.
  5. Add the rice, salt, and olive oil to the pot with the tea.
  6. Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  7. Remove the pot from the heat and let it stand for 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve as a side dish.
