Ham and Cheese Rice

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup diced bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme


  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced ham and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked rice to the skillet and mix well with the ham and vegetables.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried thyme. Stir to evenly distribute the seasonings.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the rice mixture. Cover the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
