Ham and Onion Fried Rice

This recipe is a quick and easy way to use up leftover ham and create a delicious meal for four people. The combination of ham and onions adds a savory and flavorful twist to classic fried rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the diced ham and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the ham is heated through.
  4. Push the ham and onions to one side of the skillet and add the cooked rice to the other side.
  5. Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice and stir to combine with the ham and onions.
  6. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is heated through and slightly crispy.
  7. Season with black pepper and adjust the seasoning to taste.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
