Ham and Onion Fried Rice

This recipe is a quick and easy way to use up leftover ham and create a delicious meal for four people. The combination of ham and onions adds a savory and flavorful twist to classic fried rice.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
- Stir in the diced ham and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the ham is heated through.
- Push the ham and onions to one side of the skillet and add the cooked rice to the other side.
- Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice and stir to combine with the ham and onions.
- Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is heated through and slightly crispy.
- Season with black pepper and adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
