Ham and Potato Casserole

A delicious and hearty casserole, perfect for a family dinner. This recipe serves 4 people.
Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups cooked ham, diced
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Add the sliced potatoes to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and slightly browned.
- Stir in the diced ham and heavy cream. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the mixture is heated through.
- Transfer the potato and ham mixture to a 9x9 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the top with cheddar cheese.
- Bake the casserole for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve the casserole warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
