Ham and Potato Casserole Recipe

This hearty casserole is a perfect comfort food for any occasion. The combination of salty ham and creamy potatoes make it a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 2 cups diced cooked ham
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and garlic powder and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
- Add the ham and stir to combine.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Pour the ham mixture over the potatoes, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the ham mixture.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
