Ingredients
- 500g stir fry beef, thinly sliced
- 300g broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips if not already done.
- Cut the broccoli into florets.
- Mince the garlic and ginger.
- In a bowl, combine the beef strips with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, minced garlic, and ginger.
- Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.
- Blanch the broccoli florets for 2 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix the beef broth, remaining soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch until well combined.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large frying pan or wok over high heat.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the sesame oil and the blanched broccoli.
- Stir-fry for 2 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.
- Return the beef to the pan with the broccoli.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the beef and broccoli stir-fry to a serving dish.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
