Healthy Cabbage and Cottage Cheese Rice

What Started it all:
Cottage Cheese, Cabbage, dried herbs (oregano, thyme, basil), rice cooker


  • 2 cups Cottage Cheese
  • 1 head Cabbage, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried Basil
  • 2 cups Rice
  • 4 cups Water


  1. Start by rinsing the rice in a colander under cold running water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a rice cooker, combine the rinsed rice and water. Close the lid and set the rice cooker to cook.
  3. While the rice is cooking, heat a large pan over medium heat and add the chopped cabbage. Sauté until it starts to soften.
  4. Add the cottage cheese to the pan with the cabbage, and sprinkle in the dried herbs. Stir well to combine and allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Once the rice cooker switches to the warm setting, fluff the rice with a fork and transfer it to a serving dish.
  6. Top the rice with the cabbage and cottage cheese mixture, and serve hot.
