Enjoy your delicious and flavorful Italian Chickpea dish!


  • 1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup of tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add olive oil to the skillet and allow it to heat up.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until they are translucent.
  4. Add the chickpeas to the skillet and stir to combine.
  5. Add the oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir everything together.
  6. Add the tomato sauce to the skillet and stir to combine.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and allow everything to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot on top of your favorite pasta, or as a side dish.
