Italian Chickpea Recipe

Enjoy your delicious and flavorful Italian Chickpea dish!
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup of tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add olive oil to the skillet and allow it to heat up.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until they are translucent.
- Add the chickpeas to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Add the oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir everything together.
- Add the tomato sauce to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low and allow everything to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot on top of your favorite pasta, or as a side dish.
