Ah, Italian cuisine - bold, comforting flavors that never fail to impress. Today, I’m going to show you how to make a delicious Italian stuffed cabbage rolls dish that will leave your guests begging for more. Let’s get started!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 head of cabbage
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Start by boiling a large pot of water.
- Carefully remove the core from the head of cabbage, then place the whole head in the pot of boiling water. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, or until the leaves are softened.
- While the cabbage is cooking, heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until it's browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the cabbage leaves are softened, remove them from the pot and allow them to cool.
- In a separate saucepan, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- Take each cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the cooked rice and a portion of the seasoned ground beef in the center. Roll the cabbage leaf around the filling, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a baking dish, seam side down.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cover the cabbage rolls with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through.
