  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup lentils
  • Instant pot


  1. Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the instant pot.
  3. Add the cubed potatoes and lentils on top of the chicken.
  4. Pour water into the instant pot until all the ingredients are submerged.
  5. Close the lid of the instant pot and set it to cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  6. Once the cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes.
  7. Carefully open the lid and give the stew a gentle stir.
  8. Serve the Japanese chicken and potato stew in bowls, making sure each serving has a good mix of chicken, potatoes, and lentils.
