Ingredients

  • 1 cup of uncooked white rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of fresh peas
  • 1/2 cup of sliced almonds
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: kimchi, spicy sauce, or other toppings of your choice

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly and add it to a rice cooker with 4 cups of water. Cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. While the rice is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced almonds to the pan and toast them until they are lightly browned and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and the fresh peas. Cook until they are tender but still crisp.
  5. To assemble the bowls, divide the cooked rice among four bowls. Top with the crispy peas, toasted almonds, and a sprinkle of salt to taste.
  6. If desired, add kimchi, spicy sauce, or other toppings of your choice to give the dish an extra kick.
