Ingredients
- 100g butter, softened
 - 200ml milk
 - 250g all-purpose flour
 - 100ml maple syrup
 - 150g brown sugar
 - 1 tsp nutmeg, freshly grated
 - 1 tsp cinnamon
 - 3 large eggs
 
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
 - In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
 - Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk and maple syrup. Start and finish with the flour mixture, gently folding until just combined.
 - Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
 - Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
 - Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
