Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get approximately 20 meatballs.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Place the meatballs in the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until it forms a smooth paste. Cook for about 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth and Dijon mustard. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens and comes to a simmer.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, coating them with the mustard sauce. Reduce the heat to low and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Serve the mustard meatballs hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley if desired. They pair well with mashed potatoes or pasta.
