These mustard meatballs are a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a family dinner. The tangy mustard sauce adds a delicious twist to classic meatballs. Serve them with mashed potatoes or pasta for a complete and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get approximately 20 meatballs.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Place the meatballs in the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until it forms a smooth paste. Cook for about 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and Dijon mustard. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens and comes to a simmer.
  6. Return the meatballs to the skillet, coating them with the mustard sauce. Reduce the heat to low and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through.
  7. Serve the mustard meatballs hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley if desired. They pair well with mashed potatoes or pasta.
