Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked noodles (any variety)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, onions, etc.)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Oil for frying
- Optional: dipping sauce (soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, etc.)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped vegetables. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the cooked noodles to the pan and stir in the soy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until well combined. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add water while stirring until a smooth batter forms. It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
- Once the noodle mixture has cooled, take a small portion and shape it into a ball (about the size of a golf ball). Dip each noodle ball into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop the batter-coated noodle balls into the hot oil, a few at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the balls and drain on paper towels.
- Serve the Pala dê Paldea hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
Pala dê Paldea is a fun and tasty dish that brings together the comfort of noodles and the crispiness of fried goodness. Perfect as an appetizer or a main course, these noodle-stuffed fried balls are sure to be a hit at any meal. Enjoy!
