Pan-Seared Pea and Lentil Delight with Hemp Seed Crunch

A bloody brilliant combination of textures and flavors, this dish is sure to impress even the most discerning palates. The sweetness of the peas and lentils pairs perfectly with the nutty crunch of the hemp seeds, all bound together by a hint of smokiness from the grill.


  • 1 cup lentils, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup peas, fresh or frozen
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)


  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine lentils and peas. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Toss to coat.
  3. Grill the lentil and pea mixture for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and slightly charred.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together hemp seeds and Parmesan cheese (if using).
  5. Divide the grilled lentil and pea mixture among four plates. Top each serving with a spoonful of the hemp seed mixture.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
