Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the rice and cook until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the garlic, onion, and red bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables have softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Stir in the cooked rice, peas, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
  6. Serve the shrimp rice hot and garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
