Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1 can of tuna, drained
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your preference)
  • Mayonnaise, as needed
  • Butter, as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On one slice of bread, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise.
  3. Place a slice of ham on top of the mayonnaise.
  4. Add a generous portion of tuna on top of the ham.
  5. Cover the tuna with a slice of cheese.
  6. Take another slice of bread and spread mayonnaise on one side. Place it on top of the cheese to create a sandwich.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for the remaining ingredients to make three more sandwiches.
  8. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a knob of butter.
  9. Place one sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread turns golden brown. Then, flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden brown as well. Repeat this step for all the sandwiches.
  10. Once the sandwiches are done, transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.
  11. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and become gooey.
  12. Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the sandwiches cool for a minute or two.
  13. Serve the Tuna Melt Sandwiches warm and enjoy the cheesy, tuna-filled goodness!
