Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Food coloring (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
- Frosting of choice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two small cake pans.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Divide the batter into six small bowls, adding different food coloring to each bowl to create rainbow colors.
- Pour each colored batter into the prepared cake pans, layering them to form a rainbow.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
