Rice, Chicken, and Ham Casserole

This delicious casserole combines the flavors of rice, chicken, and ham to create a satisfying and comforting dish. It’s perfect for a family dinner or a gathering with friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 1 cup of diced ham
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of frozen peas
  • 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until they become translucent.
  4. Add the shredded chicken, diced ham, and frozen peas to the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the cooked rice, chicken broth, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Grease a baking dish and spread half of the rice mixture evenly on the bottom.
  7. Spread the chicken, ham, and pea mixture on top of the rice.
  8. Sprinkle half of the grated cheddar cheese over the chicken mixture.
  9. Repeat the layers with the remaining rice mixture, chicken mixture, and cheddar cheese.
  10. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
