Roasted Turkey Recipe

This roasted turkey recipe is perfect for a family dinner or special occasion. Follow the steps below to impress your guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (about 12 pounds)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup white wine

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Season the turkey with salt and pepper, inside and out.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, thyme, rosemary, and sage until well combined.
  4. Use your hands to carefully separate the skin from the turkey breast, thighs, and legs.
  5. Spread the butter mixture under the skin, covering as much surface area as possible.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add the chicken broth and white wine to the pan.
  7. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil and roast for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165 degrees F (75 degrees C).
  8. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the skin to brown.
  9. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
  10. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
