Ingredients

  • 1 ham steak, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 cup root beer

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, boil root beer until it is reduced by half, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Brush the ham steak with half of the reduced root beer, making sure to coat it evenly on both sides.
  4. Place the ham steak on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake the ham steak in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until it is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  6. While the ham is baking, pour the remaining root beer reduction into a small saucepan and simmer on low heat until it thickens and becomes a glaze-like consistency, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Once the ham steak is cooked, remove it from the oven and brush it with the root beer glaze.
  8. Serve the ham steak immediately, hot and glazed with root beer goodness!
