This delightful recipe combines the richness of salmon with the creamy texture of melted mozzarella, creating a delectable and elegant dish that is sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 4 oz fresh salmon, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz mozzarella, melted
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • Wasabi (optional)
  • Pickled ginger (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and water. Pour this mixture over the cooked rice and stir gently to combine. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
  3. Cut the salmon into small, thin slices.
  4. Take a small amount of rice and form it into a small oblong shape, then top it with a slice of salmon.
  5. Using a kitchen torch or broiler, melt the mozzarella and drizzle it over the salmon-topped rice.
  6. Serve the nigiri with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
