This delightful recipe combines the richness of salmon with the creamy texture of melted mozzarella, creating a delectable and elegant dish that is sure to impress.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice
- 4 oz fresh salmon, thinly sliced
- 4 oz mozzarella, melted
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- Wasabi (optional)
- Pickled ginger (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool.
- In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and water. Pour this mixture over the cooked rice and stir gently to combine. Let the rice cool to room temperature.
- Cut the salmon into small, thin slices.
- Take a small amount of rice and form it into a small oblong shape, then top it with a slice of salmon.
- Using a kitchen torch or broiler, melt the mozzarella and drizzle it over the salmon-topped rice.
- Serve the nigiri with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
