This recipe combines the rich flavors of sardines and the subtle sweetness of leek with the comforting texture of rice. It’s a simple and satisfying dish perfect for a family meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 sardines
  • 2 leeks, sliced
  • 2 cups of rice
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced leeks and sauté until tender.
  4. Push the leeks to the side and add the sardines to the skillet.
  5. Cook the sardines for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
  6. Once the sardines are cooked, gently flake them into the leeks and mix together.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the sardine and leek mixture over the cooked rice.
