Indulge in the rich flavors of the Mediterranean with this delightful sardine dish, perfect for a cozy evening with family and friends.


  • 1 can of sardines in olive oil (drained)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Sous vide machine


  1. Preheat the sous vide machine to 145°F (63°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the drained sardines, sliced onion, sugar, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  3. Place the sardine mixture into a large ziplock bag or a heat-safe container.
  4. Seal the bag or cover the container, making sure to remove as much air as possible.
  5. Place the bag or container in the preheated sous vide machine and cook for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the bag or container from the machine and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve the sardines warm, garnished with fresh parsley or thyme, if desired.
