Shrimp and Rice
What Started it all:
shrimp, rice
While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of shrimp
- 2 cups of rice
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp by cleaning and deveining them.
- In a large saucepan, cook the rice according to the package instructions.
- While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic, diced onion, and diced bell peppers to the skillet, and sauté until they are tender and slightly browned.
- Add the cleaned shrimp to the skillet and cook until they are pink and opaque.
- Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if desired). Stir well to coat the shrimp evenly with the seasoning.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and transfer it to a large serving dish.
- Pour the cooked shrimp and vegetable mixture over the rice, and gently toss to combine.
- Serve the shrimp and rice dish immediately, and enjoy!
