Ingredients
- 2 kg pork shoulder
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup dry white wine
Instructions
- Mix together the garlic, smoked paprika, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it's completely coated.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork on all sides until it's browned and crispy, about 5 minutes per side.
- Remove the pork from the skillet and place it in a slow cooker.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Pour in the chicken broth and white wine, and bring to a simmer.
- Pour the mixture over the pork in the slow cooker.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 195°F.
- Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Slice and serve the pork with the cooking juices on the side.
