Slow Cooked Pork Shoulder Recipe

This slow cooked pork shoulder is a simple yet delicious recipe that is sure to impress your taste buds. It’s perfect for a comforting family dinner and can easily serve 4 people.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg pork shoulder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 500 ml vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C.
  2. Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure it's well coated.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot over medium-high heat. Add the pork shoulder and sear on all sides until golden brown, which should take 10-12 minutes.
  5. Once the pork shoulder is seared, pour in the vegetable broth, cover the pot with a lid, and place in the preheated oven.
  6. Cook for around 3-4 hours or until the pork shoulder is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before shredding with a fork.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite sides and enjoy!
