Slow Cooker Chinese Bison Stew

  • 2 lbs bison, cubed
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 can of mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving


  1. In a slow cooker, combine the bison, carrots, canned vegetables, beef broth, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and Chinese five-spice powder.
  2. Season with salt and pepper, then stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the bison is tender.
  4. Serve the Chinese bison stew over cooked rice.
