Slow Cooker Chuck Roast Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 (3-4 pound) chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper.
- Add the olive oil to the skillet and sear the chuck roast for 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned.
- Transfer the chuck roast to the slow cooker.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened.
