Spicy Korean Beef and Broccoli Rice Bowl

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Korean chili paste (Gochujang)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish


  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  3. Remove any excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until tender-crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, Korean chili paste, and sesame oil.
  6. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli in the skillet.
  7. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  8. Divide the cooked rice among 4 serving bowls.
  9. Spoon the spicy Korean beef and broccoli over the rice.
  10. Garnish with sliced green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  11. Serve hot and enjoy the bold flavors!
