Ingredients
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 4 sausages, sliced
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1/2 small cabbage, shredded
- 1 head of lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup pickles, diced
- 4 hot dog buns, sliced into cubes
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 4 potato patties, cooked and crumbled
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Dice the onion and green bell pepper. Chop the parsley and shred the cabbage. Chop the lettuce and dice the pickles. Slice the sausages and cube the hot dog buns. Crumble the cooked potato patties. Bloody hell, get it all ready before you even think about turning on the stove!
- Cook the Sausages: Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sausages and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausages and set aside.
- Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the shredded cabbage and chopped lettuce, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until wilted. Season with salt and pepper. Don't you dare under-season!
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausages, sautéed veggies, diced pickles, and chopped parsley. Mix well. Add the crumbled potato patties and cubed hot dog buns, gently folding them in.
- Add Mayonnaise: Stir in the mayonnaise until everything is evenly coated. Make sure every bloody piece gets a nice coating.
- Bake the Casserole: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve hot and enjoy. And for crying out loud, make sure it’s perfect!
