Tamarind Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 pounds of chicken
- 1/2 cup of tamarind pulp
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 tablespoon of ginger paste
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper
- Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry the chicken pieces. Season them with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a bowl, mix the tamarind pulp, soy sauce, honey, ginger paste, and garlic together.
- Add the chicken to the bowl and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook on both sides until they are browned, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Once the chicken is cooked through, pour the remaining marinade over the chicken in the skillet and stir.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the chicken simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce is thickened and the chicken is fully cooked.
- Serve hot and garnish with cilantro if desired.
