Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow noodles
- 16 meatballs
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the elbow noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and cook the meatballs until browned on all sides. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the cooked elbow noodles and meatballs to the cheese sauce, stirring to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the mac and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
